Specialty Services

At ExpreSS Bolt & Gasket, we are dedicated to providing excellence in our fasteners as well as our services. We understand that there are complex requirements for many jobs, and while we maintain a readily stocked inventory of standard parts, some jobs require more customized components. When you need precise results, call on ExpreSS Bolt & Gasket to manufacture your components. In addition to machining and threading, we offer the following services.

Nut Tapping

Nut tapping is the process of cutting a thread inside the hole of a nut so that a bolt can be threaded through it. This process can be done on a lathe or by hand. We use Landis Threaders to ensure that our results are as precise as possible.

Sawing

We also offer sawing services for our clients at production runs of any size. While we maintain a vast supply of standard fasteners and gaskets, we understand that they won’t always meet the most precise requirements. Our sawing services save you the time of cutting fixed-length bars or bolts. With our expansive facility and network of partners, we are able to offer you any secondary machining you may need, cutting your costs and ensuring that everything you receive is of the highest quality possible.

Forging

At ExpreSS Bolt & Gasket, we have the capability to forge custom parts for our clients. Our services include open-die and closed-die forging processes. With closed-die forging, shaping metals, such as steel, aluminum, titanium, and other alloys are usually produced on hydraulic presses, mechanical presses, and hammers. Weight capacities can range from 50,000 pounds to 50,000 tons depending on the machinery. Open-die forging provides a wider variety of starting blocks for alloys: round, square, rectangle and other basic shapes. This usually makes open-die a preferred method of the forging process.

Heat Treating

Our partnership with Houston Heat Treat provides our clients with access to quality heat treating services. Heat treating is a process in which the heating and cooling of metals are controlled to alter their physical and chemical properties without changing their shape. Some manufacturing processes result in inadvertent heat treatments, but more intentional treatments can strengthen the material as well as improve machining and formability or restoring ductility.

No matter what your job may require, you can rest assured knowing that you’ll receive quality service and care from the ExpreSS Bolt & Gasket team. Contact us today to see how we can make your unique specifications a reality.
